How to Stretch a background image accross two monitors

Does anybody know how to use a wide format image as
wallpaper and have the image stretch across two
monitors. They sell wide pictures for exactly this
purpose, but I can't find any information on how to do it.
When I set a wide image as the wallpaper, it just shrinks
it or compresses it, and displays the distorted image on
both monitors.
