How to stop Word's prompt of INCLUDETEXT formatting of a .c file?

I'm using the INCLUDETEXT field feature to include a .c file in my document.
Every time I tell Word to update the field, I am prompted to identify a file
converter.
I select the "Windows (Default)" option every time.
How can I tell Word to always use "Windows (Default)" with this field?

What's a '.c' file? Word does not recognize the file type, because it is not
a Word document and it does not use a recognizable extension that equates to
a known file type, therefore it asks you to make the decision.

A '.c' file is an ascii text file - just a plain text file. In this case,
this .c file is edited by me using Microsoft Visual Studio. While Word
doesn't know what a .c file is, I have used the INCLUDETEXT feature with '.c'
files in a previous Word document with success. These numerous '.c' files
were also edited by me using Microsoft Visual Studio. In that document I have
never been prompted to make a "file converter" selection. In my present
document, Word knows the converter to use because I respond to the prompt.
Unfortunately, Word won't remember my selection and I can't find a way to
make the selection perminant.
