How to Stop Outlook from Synchronizing Folders

I found this on another site and it's worked for me. I've been using
Outlook 2003 and we have 2007 on another machine. Both were plagued by the
the icon constantly saying that it was "synchronizing folders" and basically
freezing the program until it was done. I tried so many things I had almost
given up. I use my outlook email for work and I can't afford to have my
machine slowing me down all day long.

Anyways, enough already....

HERE'S A REAL SOLUTION (This is a post from another site)

You guys had pointed me in the right direction, but today I have
definitively solved this screwy mess.

If you right click on each of the email folders and select "properties" you
will see a check box: Automatically generate Microsoft Exchange views".

UNcheck this box on each email folder.

You will still get a very brief "synchronizing" message, but ONLY while it
is actively linking to your POP account.

Try it...

I DID and it does work. I'll let you know if anything changes.
