how to stop cascading style sheets in a word document

I scanned several pages into a WORD document with an HP 3310 printer/scanner.
When I open the document all of the pages cascade with one page covering up
the next one. How do I turn off the cascading feature?

You have probably inserted a series of images each replacing the one before.
Word cannot display multi-page graphics (as can be created in some formats).
Word objects cannot span pages). If you really have inserted the images and
they are overlaying one another, the simplest way to sort it all out is to
extract the images - http://www.gmayor.com/extract_images_from_word.htm then
insert them in line so that one follows the next.

It is always much simpler to scan documents to separate images and then
insert the images.

Incidentally, none of this will enable you to produce editable text from the
images. For that you will need OCR software.
