You can add a stop effect onto the movie so that it will play only for 30
seconds.
First, insert the movie.
Then, click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Click on the movie, then click Add Effect > Movie Actions > Stop.
Double click on the stop effect to bring up a dialog box.
Click on the timing tab.
Click on the Start dropdown field and select "With Previous".
Click on the Delay input and set it to 30 seconds.
Does it help?

Thanks. It didn't work exactly as you described. I had several other effects
in between, so I just used the path you mentioned and set it to end "after
previous" a few seconds. Not sure why the other method did not work. Probably
user error. Thanks again.
