How to set up windows xp account so when the user logins he sees only his
catalog. So he can't search through my drive and change or delete anything.
He can't install... he can have access to his programs and internet. But

make sure you are loged onton the main account with full access

go to start> control panel>user accounts>click on the account you want to
restrict access>Change account type>click on limited, and hit change account
type

It depends on whether you have XP Pro or Home Edition. For Pro, use
Group Policy. For questions about Group Policy, post here:
microsoft.public.windows.group_policy

For Home, look at either MVP Doug Knox's Security Console or the
Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit.

If this is a stand alone pc not part of a domain whether xp pro or home just
create a limited non administrator account in user accounts.
