How to set up Outlook to access company email and ALSO personal POP3?

Eliezer

I, like many other employees in the world, access my
company's email while at the office using Outlook (and
Exchange), which is run off of a company server. Up until
now, I've been using a web-based email for my personal
email. I am quite tired of web-based email, though.

Is it possible to have Outlook access my personal email in
addition to my company email without storing my personal
email on the company's servers (i.e. store it only locally
on my workstation?) Would I do this with a second
instance of Outlook running (for my personal account) - or
can I somehow use that same instance of Outlook (certainly
preferable) - and feel confident that my personal mail
doesn't end up on the server?

Icing on the cake (ideally): That my personal mail
wouldn't "ding" upon arrival, whereas the company email
would...

I'm using Outlook 2000, SP-3.

Thanks so much!
Eliezer

Set up a separate profile for your personal mail, with a PST file for
delivery & an Internet mail account. You can't open both profiles
simultaneously. Or use OE for your personal mail.

I need to have both POP3 and my Exchange email running at
the same time - therefore, having two profiles won't work
for me.

What will I not be able to do in Express that I can do in
regular Outlook?

Thanks,
Eliezer

OK.... then OE or another POP client will do.

You won't have a calendar or tasks or your regular "contacts" folder or
journaling - but if you've been using webmail, you'll sure have more than
you have now. You may want to leave a copy of all mail on the POP server if
you wish to check it elsewhere.
