I don't know if htis is the right area to post this
problem. But here it goes. I can't set up the firewalls
for my AOL v8 and MSN v8 dial-up connections. Here is
what happens (or doesn't happen). I click on Control
Panel, then click on Network Connections click on
Networks. I get the window showing all my dial-up and
network connections. I then right click on MSN or AOL. I
scroll down to "properties" line. But when I try to click
on "prerties" (or any other of the lines in the scroll
down menu) NOTHING happens. I have tried using this
method to set up the Windows XP built-in firewall on other
computers and when I clcik on the "properties" line I get
a full menu of options associated with the dial-up
copnnection. What's the problem here? I'd appreciate any
and all help

The problem is AOL's proprietary software. It renders XP's built in firewall
useless. Apparently MSN does the same. Download a third party firewall such
as ZoneAlarm or Sygate to protect your machine.
