How to set up an IF formula in Excel

I have a spreadsheet that I need to calculate if our carrier delivers 'X'
number of parcels, then this must be multiplied by $1.50 plus add $2.50
delivery fee.
Not all deliveries are based on this, some have set rates in which case I
need no formula in them.
Can anyone help me??? (am a formula novice)

Thanks!!

Don't understand what you want.
if A1 = "X", then it can't be multiplied by number.

I assumed x is a number, then
=IF(A1=10,A1*1.5+2.5,"")

is that what you wanted?
