How To: Set Multiple Ethernet Frame types in NWLink

R

Rizwan Ahmed Mirza

We are using UTP structured Network. All PCs in network
having Windows 2000 Pro (With Sp4) connected Windows 2000
Advance server.
Recently we brought 2 Novell 3.11 File servers on this
network from Old Coxal cable network.

My question is
How a USER can connect to these 2 Novell server at same
time when he logs in to Windows 2000 server.

We have Set Client Services for Netware but it allow to
connect to only ONE PREFERED SERVER. Even we are unable to
set Multiple ETHERNET Frame types in NWLink.

MyNetwork Places show only One Novell Server.

Anybody have any Idea or give any reference to solve this
problem.

a nic will only bind to one frame type.. It's a layer two issue - there is
no workaround. You simply can't transmit traffic in two forms. Upgrade
your novell to 3.12.

You could attach to another Netware server from the login script, then map
its directories. NWLink binds to the one frame type only in any mode, Auto
or Manual, no matter how many frame types assigned. From the other hand,
Novell server supports multiple frame bindings and you can check both
servers configuration. Stick to the one common frame type and one common
protocol only, if possible. Replace CSNW with Novell Client from
http://download.novell.com.
