How to set "draft" and "black and white" as printer defaults?

How do I make my properties "draft" as quality, and "black and white" as
defaults?
I was able to do that on my old windows 98. I now have Windows XP, but the
same printer. Thanks,

You can set this from the printer driver properties, if the driver allows.
