How to search for original DB from a replica?

I have replicated my database a while ago and due to that can't change any
field properties in my replica. I have forgotten the location of the original
(global) database. How do I search for the original database location?

The original database location is not encoded into the replicas. You'll have to simple search
your drive(s) for *.mdb files. See if any of the names look familiar.

Failing that, I think (haven't tried it myself) you can promote a replica to a design master.
Download a copy of the Replication FAQ from here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=282977

Then take a look at items # 44 and 45.

If you want to remove replication, take a look at item # 40.
