How to save files from Windows Update

Set WU to notify you but not install. When the update is offered through
windows update click on "View available updates", then right click the
update, choose View details, click on the More information link, then
navigate through that to the download file, and download it.

Do what are offered include not only security updates but also all other
available updates including Ultimate Extras?

They are called either "Critical" or "Recommended". I do it that way with
XP and find that a lot of both types don't apply to me so I pick and choose.

I haven't found a way to do it with the Ultimate Extras, only with the
security and other updates offered through WU.
