How to Save-As (attachment) _AND_ Open in One Step????

Outlook Irritation... OK... I want to save an attachment in a
specific folder to keep my digital life in order.

Once upon a time, pre-Outlook, our corporate email had a save as /
open command... put the file where you want it and open it at the same
time.

why can't Outlook do this? If you simply open an attachment, it saves
and opens in the infernal hard-to-find OLK file. What a pain that is
when you edit a document and don't realize where it is. I have a post-
it that answers "Where the F! is my OLK?" for such emergencies.

I guess you can open (to OLK) and then save-as... so you end up with
copies of every attachment cluttering your hard drive. Who thought
this was a good idea?

I have a lot of folders. I save the attachment by navigating to the
correct one. Then I go back to the desktop and have to navigate all
over again to the same folder to open the document. Even "recent
documents" doesn't remember where the file was saved by Outlook!

This is a gazillion wasted keystrokes! Does anybody have a solution to
this problem??? Thanks - R

I personally use Explorer to browse to the location and then simply drag &
drop the attachment from Outlook to the Explorer folder. I basically never
use File-> Save Attachments.
