How to return to the web page without reloading it?

Hello,
Sometimes I need to return to previously opened webpage (let say
several minutes ago) but each time I do that the page refreshes itself. It
is not a secured site and it does not requires login. When opened, that page
can stay opened forever.
Is it possible to reopen that page without refreshing?

Could depend on the code in the web page. For example, they might use
the OnLoad event in Javascript to force a reload of the web page. They
want to ensure when you visit their page that you get the latest version
of it. You could disable Javascript in your web browser but that would
severely cripple the usefulness of many sites, and probably include the
unidentified site you are trying to reaccess without reloading its
content.

Under Tools -> Internet Options, what did you have configured for the
TIF settings? Choices are:

Every time I visit the webpage
Every time I start Internet Explorer
Automatically
Never

I understand that.
But, when my Windows crashes, on Windows restart IE offers me the option to
'restore previous session'
When I choose that option the website in question reopens without reloading.
So, it means there is some other way of doing that.
Please more comments,
Jack

Then it loads from the cached copy in your TIF folder. See the last
part of my prior reply to do the same with prior cached copies of a web
page. Try the last 2 settings. Because I use the 1st setting, the
recover tab session option does reload the pages that get reopened.

Also, be aware that if you don't have the web browser check for a new
version of the page that you could end up viewing outdated content.
What is in the TIF cache may not be what is currently in the web site's
page.

Are you running IE6? (See name of this newsgroup)

PS: Your headers (Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.5512) tell us that the
computer is not fully-patched. Check-in at Windows Update ASAP!

Both my OE6 and IE6 says 6.00.2900.2180. Both are fully up-to-date in
regards to XP-SP2. I can't use SP3 as I can't get some of my
applications to work with it, including MS EWF. Plus that OE6 with SP3
compacting bug scares me.

Remember! The latest version and updates isn't necessary the best. And
anybody who has been doing updates for many years should all know this.

Also remember how many Vista users upgraded to Windows XP? They did so
for a good reason. <grin>
