First - do not do anything with the machine, or it might over-write the
data.

Get Restoration
ver. 2.5:

put it on a floppy, boot and run it. It is desirable to be able to do
the restore by copying the files to a separate disk, so as to avoid the
danger of overwriting things in the process

Hi -

The accidentally lost files might still be recoverable.

First . . . avoid do anything on your computer that would cause
anything to be written to the disk where the files used to reside.

Second, go to http://www.undelete.com/downloads/menu.asp and look for
the Deleted File Analysis Utility download. Get this utility --
preferably download it from another computer and copy it onto a floppy
disk, to avoid writing to the disk where the lost files were.

Third, run the Deleted File Analysis Utility to see which files can be
recovered. If the utility comes up with positive results, you can
recover the files with Undelete from Executive Software (available at
www.undelete.com).

I hope this helps -
