How to restore user profile setting after improper shut down?

Lost all user setting and email and other data after power lost during shut
down.
Please help.

Joe, try a System Restore. Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System
Tools>System Restore. If you can go back a few days. Just follow the
instructions.

Thanks for your help. I tried several different dates but I'm unable to
restore. The system states that it can't find the Local profile. I looked in
the registry and found
5 entries for the profile list. Several look like temp ones. How do I find
my profile and restore it. I'm sure my data, ie emails and IE favorites are
there. ALso everytime I restart the computer I have to reset all my personal
settings. Its getting frustrating.
