how to restore Outlook address book?

Hi All,

I have a customer that destroyed his Outlook (full, not
Express) address book. He also has a backup routine he
runs on his hard drive every night that backs up his
whole hard drive to an external USB drive.

Problem: I can not restore his address book from
his external backup drive, as I have no clue what the
address book's file name is or where it is stored.
Does anyone know the name and (default) path to the
Outlook address book? The customer is using Win98SE.

Many thanks,

OL stores all data in a *.pst file, this may be a hidden file. This is the
OL default, having said that he may have been using the windows address
book, *.wab file

Using XP and Office 2003 the default folder is:

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

I would suggest that it is similar for 98.
