how to restore backed up mails/contacts

Sorry if this sounds basic but I can't easily find an
answwer elsewhere:-

having backep up my emails and contacts to pst and csv
folders respectively, how do i restore them back into
outlook?

For the emails, just open the PST file in your current installation. File >
Open
For the Contacts, you didn't back them up at all. You converted them to a
different file format. That's just a good way to lose data. You should have
saved them in the same PST file. There is never any reason to change file
formats. If you're lucky, you'll be able to import them using File > Import
and Export... > Import from another Program or file. Good luck.

Just use File>Open for the PSTs. File>Use Import and Export for the CSVs.
