How to resolve a corrupted Pagefile from outside?

Hello,

my Win2K-System hangs while booting: I get an endless loop
at the GUI with the message that the pagefile has been
corrupted (which seems to be true). Will it help to delete
the pagefile from outside WIN2k by using the recovery prompt?

Yes. Win2000 will recreate the paging file at the next boot.
