Ages ago a friend renamed the inbox on my pc by changing
something within the registry. This has remained changed
ever since. How can this be changed back? The Recycle
Bin also needs renaming? Help

As the Inbox is part of the pst file, I would ask are you using Outlook or
Outlook EXPRESS?

It is Outlook and I believe it is part of the PST as it
has been moving with me regardless of the PC, exchange
server.....etc.

It's outlook and I guess it is part of the pst as it
keeps following me like the plague.

Start Outlook from the Run Command with the /resetfoldernames switch

When I do
outlook / resetfoldernames
it just takes me to the folder where the PST resides and
doesn't start outlook. I am sure I am doing something
very silly. Help and thanks BTW

OK I got outlook to fire up from the run prompt but it
doesn't like the resetfoldernames switch...it is outlook
2000 BTW any other ideas?

That switch is not supported in Outlook 2000. You must create an extra
pst-file and set that as the default delivery location. Now when you restart
Outlook you are able to rename the Inbox folder as the new pst-file is now
your default delivery location. Once you've changed the names you can set
the original pst-file as the default delivery location again and restart
Outlook.
