I need to uninstall my Windows XP Home edition from my
computer. When I go to Add and Remove Programs,Windows XP
is not listed. How can I uninstallXP if it is not listed
in my add or remove programs list?

Why do you need to uninstall windows xp is operating your
computer without it you have nothing, you can make a
repair installation if need be or fresh install. Post why
you need to uninstall.

Do you have another windows version still installed, or
did you upgrade from an older version?
If you only have windowsXP, you can not uninstall it, only
format your harddrive..before you do that, make sure you
have any other windows version CD to install another OS.

That is for removing things that run within the XP System. If you
remove the system there is nothing there. You presumably want to
install something else - clean everything off the hard disk by
repartitioning it (or at least reformatting) as a part of setting that

Greetings --

If you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup the
old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, then all
you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.

You don't. You will have to format the drive and install the operating
system of your choice, loosing all data in the process.
