Hi:
Every time I log on, this stupid screen comes up from
Microsoft. It is blue and on the left it says Welcome to
Microsoft, and on the right it says, log-on Elly. It has
a chess game set up beside my name. It was never there
before, and I would love to know how the get rid of it??
Any suggestions?
I also would like to know how to get to my area that lets
me set the time up for when the screen saver or a blank
screen is going to pop-in. I have gone everywhere and
can't find it.
Thanking you in advance.
Elly

Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Uncheck the box Users
must enter a username and password.......... Click apply, enter your
username and any password that you have on your account. If you don't have
a password, leave this box blank.

Ok Elly,
To get rid of the welcome screen, do the following.

Go to START - CONTROL PANEL - USER ACCOUNTS
Now select the option "Change the way users log on and off"
Then untick the box that says "Use the welcome screen"
That will get rid of your welcome screen.

Now to customize your screen savers. RIGHT CLICK anywhere on your desktop
(not on an icon) and from the menu, select properties and then select the
screensaver tab up the top and you will be able to do what you want from
there. Hope all this helps. Let me know how you go.

Re your first question, go to control panel and select User Accounts. You
can change login options from there.
Re your second question, right click on your desktop and choose properties.
You should see a tab called Screensaver
in which you can make the desired changes. HTH.
