How to Remove F: and G: drives from my logival PC configuration ?

P

Per Nermo

I've got 2 Hard Discs on my 733 MHz DELL PC,
one new (40 GB) split into C: and D: stations,
one old (15 GB ?) split into F: and G: stations.

I'm running Win 2000 OS.

The old Hard Disk has recently started to 'act up',
making noises on boot start-up. Sometimes F: and G:
drives are there after start-up has finished, sometimes not.

I don't need the contents of F: and G., and I want to
remove them "logically" from my configuration,
without opening the cabinet and removing the disk physically.

This way I hope that the old HD won't bother me any more.

How do I do this ?

regards,

You can delete the partition(s) using the Disk Management snap-in.

Start|Run|diskmgmt.msc

Thanks for the tip, Dave !

In fact, to silence the bugger, I had to
open the cabinet and remove both
the power cable and the data cable.
