how to remove copy of installed windows xp

I really need help bad. While attempting to repair a
windows update problem i unintentionally installed a
second windows xp operating system. Now I have them both
on my computer and I want to remove one and don't know
how. I edited the boot ini file so I won't get the "which
operating system to you want to run?" bow on reboot. I
have no idea how to fix this and have been all over the
help options looking for help.
here is some info.[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWSC
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWSC="Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

As a first attempt, you should try to use system restore, booting off your initial windows system, and set the system back to a date prior to your mishap.

Should this not work successfully, make sure you can identify in which directory the 2nd copy of Windows is located.

I would suggest that it has been set up for the 2nd time in WINDOWSC.

Copy and Save your current C:\boot.ini file as C:\boot.old and then you'll need to modify the boot.ini file to:

timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

WHen the system runs just fine off the 1st Windows installation, you can simply delete the folder C:\windowsc and all the files will be removed.
