I downloaded a program - YahELite - which looks like it runs in DOS. I saved
the application to my desktop. I am trying to remove this program from my
computer, but I keep getting a message that it is in use, so obviously it is
running. I have checked everywhere and there does not seem to be a folder for
it, nor can I find it in the Task Manager. I have located the command prompt
via Documents and Settings-->Administrator-->Start
Menu-->Programs-->Accessories--Command Prompt, but I'm not sure what to type
or if I need to use that. I have no idea how to end the program so I can
remove it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

*I am running WindowsXP Pro*

Try the following utility:

Unlocker v1.7.5

Look for the process ntvdm.exe.
or
Reboot, that should end it.

Hi Carey,
Thanx for the suggestion.I downloaded the application and installed it,
however, I don't see the option in the right-click menu.Does that it is not
locked? I'm not even sure if Unlocker is running because when I click on it,
nothing happens.

Hi Mark,
I appreciate the suggestion. I looked for the process that you mentioned and
it is not listed. Also, I have tried rebooting, but it doesnt help.I try to
delete the YahElite after reboot and I still get the same message.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL keys to open the Task Manager.
Open a command prompt. Start Menu | All Programs | Accessories | Command
Prompt

In the Task Manager select the Processes tab, then select the Explorer.exe
process and click
the End Process Button. ClickYes to confirm the action.

In the Command Prompt window use these commands:
cd %userprofile%\desktop
del <filename>
Replace <filename> with the name of the file to be deleted.

In the Task Manager click File | New Task (Run...) | type in Explorer.exe
and click OK
