how to remove a .NET passport from Windows?

Lenny

Hello,

I have the frequent problem that students download and install Messenger
(either Windows or MSN) and use it during class. It happens a lot that they
go through the wizard to attach a .NET passport to their Windows user
account. After that, they can't remove it anymore and Messenger logs on to
their account each time Messenger starts.

I tried going to Control Panel and removing the .NET passport from the
Windows user acount, but when I'm in the list of .NET passports, I cannot
remove the passport, maybe because there is only one.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Greetings Lenny,

The best solution to this would be to disable the saving of .NET Passports on Windows XP
completely. To do this, simply logon to each PC you wish to enable this option, then
download and run this .reg file:

After this, reboot the computer, and .NET Passports will no longer be saved.
