How to remain levels collapsed in Document Map view on reopen

Hi all,

I would like to know, if is there any way to force Word (2003) document to
remain some levels expanded and some collapsed in Document Map view, when
document is reopened.

No, there is no built-in way to do this. It may not be possible in VBA
either, but you could ask in a programming newsgroup where you'll get a
knowledgeable reply.

Thanks Stefan for your answer, via VBA I know to open document on specific
level.

I’m not certain, but I think it was possible in earlier MS Word versions.
Especially, when such document is opened in Word 2003, for a short moment I
can see this layout and that’s the reason I think this information should be
somewhere saved.

(I rarely use the document map, so I cannot tell if the behavior has
