I did an upgrade to Windows vista. I the process my old e-mails and folders
did make it from XP. I have found the old folders in windows.old but don't
seem to be able to import them into windows mail or office 2007 outlook. what
i have are .dbx files that look like the folders from xp because the name
match. How can I get them into windows mail as readable messages? I know
this keeps coming up but get me some help if you can. thanks

The best info came from John Inzar (see his reply below) I did not exactly
fix the problem but came up with a workable work around. The
http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#oe2wm
was very good. I restored the files on an old xp machine running outlook
express. now i can forward the recover files to myself.
