how to recover accidently deleted Outlook .pst file folders

It is very easy to accidently delete an entire folder or subfolder. The
confirmation dialog box, simply asks if you want to delete the selected file.
If you accidently highlighted the wrong folder, it is gone with no retrieval
method. This is not hard to do. In any event, does anyone know how to
retrive an accidently deleted .pst file? I cannot locate the delelted file
in the Recycle bin. Thanks for any help anyone might provide.

The deleted PST file *should* go into your recycle bin unless you
hard-deleted it (shift + delete). If you're connected to a business network
and your PST is located on a networked drive (like your "home" drive), please
contact your Network Admin.
If you're on a home PC and hard-deleted your PST, then you would need a
third party recovery application such as:

If you deleted the folder from within Outlook, it should be in OL's Deleted
Items folder.

Kathleen - thank you for your response. It is a home PC. It was not a hard
delelte. It was a standard delete from my Delelted Items folder. It was
probably sometime in the last week. I will check out your recovery
application.
Thanks again, Tom

Mary - Thank you for your response. It was a delete from within the Deleted
Items folder. It more than likely occcurred when I emptied the Deleleted
Items folder without noticing that there was a Folder in the Delelted Items
folder. I appreciate your assistance.

The only folders that you can't recover is ones you made yourself unless you
have a backup pst file that you can open from the file menu. If it was a
system folder like Junk Mail, you can reset the folders to the default. In
the Windows run box type: Outlook /resetfolders

It is possible to restore deleted folder PST but it is depend upon the outlook version you use. Try these methods for deleted Outlook PST recovery.

In Outlook 2010:
  1. Open MS Outlook 2010
  2. Click on the “Deleted Items” folder then click “Recover Deleted Items”
  3. Wait until the process finishes
  4. When process finished, select the emails you want to recover.

In Outlook 2007:
  1. Open MS Outlook 2007
  2. Select that folder in the left panel from which you have deleted your emails.
  3. Select tool – Recover Deleted Items option.
  4. A window displays the emails deleted from the selected emails folder
  5. Select the emails which are to be recovered then click “Recover Selected Items”
  6. All deleted emails will be restored back to their location.

In Outlook 2003:
  1. Start MS Outlook 2003
  2. Select “Deleted Items” from folder list
  3. From tool menu select “Recover Deleted Items”.
  4. All the deleted emails will be displayed, now you can recover from here.
