How to put OE shortcut in the quick launch area

Mike Carrington

I have reloaded XP Pro and have been loading programs and re-establishing
shortcuts. One eludes me, though. I have access to Outlook Express via the
Start menu. Previously, there was a shortcut in the quick launch area (next
to the Start button). How can I get an OE short cut in that quick launch
area?

Mike:

If you have an OE shortcut on the desktop, simply drag it onto the Quick
Launch Toolbar. If you need to create an OE shortcut on the desktop, locate
the OE shortcut on the Start Menu, copy it, and then paste it onto the
desktop. Then drag it onto the Quick Launch Toolbar.

Unlock the task bar, then right click the Outlook Express entry on the start
menu, and drag it to the quicklaunch bar, release it and choose create
shortcut here.

You drag it there with your mouse.

I right-clicked on the OE shortcut in the Start menu to copy it but "Create
Shortcut" didn't come up nor did "Copy". So, I can't copy it at all. I
like the thought but it didn't work. Have another idea?

Thanks much for your help, Jim.

Did you right-click on the OE shortcut that resides on the "All Programs"
section of the Start Menu? Right-clicking that one would bring up the
right-click menu, from which you can either choose "Create Shortcut", which
will create another shortcut for OE right on that menu, which then you can
drag onto the Desktop, or else choose "Copy" and then Paste it onto the
Desktop.
