How to push updates/patches/software to users in AD

Bob Doyle

Hello,

I'm looking for a KB article ( if one exists ) on how to push
patches/updates/services packs to users that are logging into my Win2K DC
that uses AD.

Thanks,
Bob

Consider using MSUS (Microsoft Software Update Service) it is available from
Microsoft. It is a application that according to a schedule goes out to the
MS Update Site and d/l updates automatically you then approve the updates to
be pushed to the clients.

Hope this helps

There's also SMS, GPOs (a bit clunky for updates/service packs though), and
Knowledge Base article 827227.

You can now use SUS to push Service Packs and Updates to clients. Check out
the FAQ.
