How to prevent Windows Desktop Search from erroring out in Outlook Express

Has anyone found a way to prevent WDS from causing an endless popup with
outlook express? I know closing OE will stop the issue or I can kill WDS
before opening OE, but I'd really like to be able to just open OE without
having to kill any process etc. I'm hoping there is some way around the
issue short of removing WDS.
