I have a 2003 domain server. When I reset a user's password, the old
password is valid until he logs-in with the new one.

I would like to prevent this and force the user to logon with only the
new password.

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

What exactly do you mean by "the old password is valid" ? When you change a
password for someone who is already logged in, it won't take effect til they
log in again. When you change a password for someone who is not already
logged in, they need the new password to log in.

I'm not clear on what it is you're tyring to do...and you might post in
microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory as this doesn't sound like
a group policy-related question.... ?

Thanks for your reply.

The user is not yet logged in. I change the password from the server
but the user can still logon with the old password. I want to require
the user to use the new password.

If you change the password in AD, the user can't log into any workstation
using the old password - unless the computer isn't actually connected to the
network (at that time) and is caching the old credentials. So this doesn't
make sense.
