While typing in ms word, how can I pop up date and time instead of typing?

Your question is a bit ambiguous. Do you mean that you want a shortcut to
insert the Date and Time at the precise time you are typing?

Have you tried inserting the date field which you can format from quite a
comprehensive list? Beware this field is current and will reflect the actual
date/time when refreshed by F9 or opening of the file. If you what a
date/time to remain static, i.e. last revised, try one of the DocProperty
fields, or CreateDate, PrintDate, or SaveDate. Again these field will need
refreshing.

You can have this field as an AutoText which will insert this date/time "as
you type".
If you want the field to be inserted and then the field not to be active,
you can unlink the field by selecting the field(s) CTRL+SHFT+F9. The field is
now just normal text and obviously wont change.

Hope this helps, as your question was not that clear.
