How do I get AutoText to insert frequent words & phrases?

L

In Word 2000, I used to have my most frequent words, phrases, etc. recorded
in autotext so that they popped up while typing a document & inserted with a
touch of the enter key. How do I get that major timesaver back? I found
the instructions to add autotext to Word 2007, but none of my entries
automatically appear while typing. It's pretty obvious it will take a LONG
time to get used to this version.

AutoText is subsumed within the Building Blocks features in Word 2007.
AutoComplete tips, however--which popped up as you were typing--are gone
from Word 2007 (except for dates). Except for that, they work like they did
in Word 2003 and earlier, and can be expanded by pressing F3.

AutoComplete tips are being restored in Word 2010. If you'd like to try the
beta version of Office 2010, it's publicly available for free download, and
will work until October, 2010, at which time the finished version should be
available. Just search for office 2010 beta free download.

Thanks Herb, for pointing out that AutoText popup
(AutoComplete tips) are coming back. I downloaded Office10
Beta yesterday. Saw the tip show up once but cannot find my
way back to having it show up again. I've used it for years
in Word 2003. I've found after 6 months of trials, that
Word 2007 does not meet my needs largely due to the autotext
tip not showing up. I have thousands of autotexts for use
in making medical records. With 2010, I "save" selected
text as an Autotext ... but I have not been able to
reproduce having the tip show up like it did once yesterday.
Thoughts?

And the autotexts may need to be listed as AutoText, General
and saved in Normal.dotm in the building blocks organizer.
