How to Perform Remote System Restore with WMI

Hi,
I'm trying to fix a friend's computer that got totally hosed up when he was
setting permissions for the registry. It now has no idea how to open any file
or application including system restore. I've read that you can use WMI to do
a system restore remotely but I can't find any more information on how to do
so. I have found microsoft's ScriptingExamples.doc file but can't quite make
it work without more information because I had never heard of WMI till
yesterday. So my question is, from a laptop on the same network, how can I
find the restore point numbers for the problem machine, and then perform the
system restore? Thanks.

Thanks for the thought. I guess I wasn't quite specific enough. I have
physical access to his computer. Windows is just basically useless. I can't
open the registry editor, explorer windows, or the command window. I know
there are other options for fixing it, but I just wanted to open a thread
that explains how to perform a remote system restore because I haven't been
able to find any details.

rstrui.exe can NOT run in explorer, nor can task manager. Please only address
how to perform a remote system restore using WMI scripts. Thanks.
