How to open & read CD-Rom Database via Windows XP

I have a CD-Rom about OPERATION MARKET GARDEN. I transferred this to my hard
disc and it is divided into sub-folders or files and then even more sub
divisions. Some I can open and hear but with others Windows advise "CANNOT
OPEN THIS PAGE etc etc". As a beginner I am not sure what to do now. Is there
a simple solution ? I have a Windows XP Home system - not Office.

First, this group is for the Office Access Database program.

Next, was what you're trying to run designed to be run that way? I suspect
that there is probably a main application that calls the others. It very
likely uses command line switches to get the other items to work. This is
something you will have to take up with the folks that created the CD.

Thanks Wayne - sorry if I'm in the wrong shop. Is there one for Windows XP Home users then ? I was directed to your page by your own system.
The CD=Rom was sent to me by a friend from Holland. He gave me instructions
how to download to my hard disc and that 2 icons would appear on my desktop.
One did, and the other became a folder. Maybe one controls the other. I'll go
back to Holland and see if my friend can throw any light on these command
line switches.
Thank you for your time.
