how to open attachments in outlook

when I get attachments in my outlook I cannot open them. they have pps at the
end and it sends me to microsoft but I have not idea of where to go from
there.
 
PPS files require Microsoft Powerpoint. There is also a free viewer that you
can download. Search "pps file viewer" in google.
