How to modify a document with extension .dot

G

Guest

A co-worker created a Word document with extension .dot as a fillable form.
I just need to change the exhibit letter (part of the text), but it doesn't
allow me to type over. It doesn't even allow me to do copy and paste of all
the text onto another Word doc. What can I do?

The form is "protected" -- it has to be, in order to fill in the fields. If
your co-worker hasn't set a password on the form, you can unprotect it by
clicking the lock icon on the Forms toolbar -- see
http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=22. Make your change, and
then click the lock icon again to reprotect the form.
