How to merge a PhotoAlbum into existing slide presentation

Can anyone tell me how to merge a PhotoAlbum into an existing slide
presentation? I'm using Powerpoint 2002 (which already has the PhotoAlbum
feature) but when I used an existing slide presentation as the basis, I found
that I ended up with just the PhotoAlbum - can't seem to find the original,
manually inserted slides anywhere!
Would I be better off using Powerpoint 2000 with the Add-in (which
apparently treats the bulk inserted pictures differently)? Thanx

If I'm not mistaken, Photo Album in PPT 2002 and 2003 always creates a new
presentation. I'd just do that and then copy those slides and paste them
into your existing presentation. If necessary, you can choose the "keep
source formatting" option when you paste so that your text formatting
doesn't change. Or maybe you'll want to avoid using that option and instead
let the photo album slides take on the template of the presentation you're
pasting them into.

In Photo Album, the existing slide presentation is always used as a
template - so no slides are copied.

To add more photos to an existing Photo Album, choose Format | Photo Album.

To add other slides from an existing presentation to a Photo Album, use the
Insert | Slides... option and as Echo said, make sure that you select the
"Keep source formatting"option.

Regarding Photo Album in PowerPoint 2000, that version inserts pictures as
pictures - Photo Album in PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 inserts pictures as fills
inside AutoShapes.
