How to merge 10 docs into 1 for a training manual?

I have 10 separate documents which I'd like to combine into one (yet still
keep them apart somehow) for numbering and printing. Ideas?

Copy and paste. Create section breaks in between.

Another way of doing it, would be to go to Insert\Objects and create
from file. Check the link box as well. The benifit doing it this way
is if you are working on one file it will automatically update the
large file.

A second benifit is that you can move a file easy from one point to
another by displaying the field codes and return to text before
printing.

Should you want to create a TOC it can be done in this file and it will
also correct all page numbers in sequence even after you moved one
chapter around, by updating the TOC

Hennie - thank you. I've never used field codes and the help topic on it is
entirely too complex. Insert Objects is working very well though, and I even
tested changing the source file and that works great too. If I can manually
keep the different documents in order, THEN create the TOC that should work
instead of field codes right?

PS...I'll also admit I've never done a TOC - but that should be easy to
figure out.

If you used styles for your headings it should work fairly easy to
create a TOC. Remember to link the file and not only to paste it to
retain the benifit of making changes hat would reflect in the combined
file. IOW you only need to make changes in one place.

I have mentioned the field codes that would be visible if you toggle F9
or Ctrl + F9 (not sure now) if you wish to move it around in a different
sequence. It would be one line and not an entire chapter.

Do yourself a favour and play around with it and get the benifit for
future use.
