I know this is old, but it's the only relevent item my search turned
up.
I would also like to know to set an expiration date via rules. For
example,
messages to AllStaff with "dentist appointment" in subject line expire
tomorrow. The purpose is so that I can refer to the message today if
needed
(such as to see when the person is expected back in the office), but
tomorrow
when the message no longer applies, I have an easy way of seeing that I
can
safely delete it now. I don't want it to automatically delete (just in
case
the rule captured something unexpected), just show as expired (font =
gray
strikethrough).
I can not find this in the Rules wizard. I am using Outlook
Professional
Edition 2003, v 11.6568.6562 SP2 with Windows XP 2002 SP2.
Thanks for any help.
:
I see how to set expire date manually on the message. I don't see
anywhere
in the Rules dialogs that allow me to expire. Will you please provide
some
detail how to do this via Rules.
Thank you.
:
You can set an expire date, either using rules or manually in the
message
options.

Very often a mail received or sent has significance only for a few
days.
Say
there is a mail regarding a programme after 4 days. After the
programme
day
is over, mail is not relevant any more. Is there a way of marking
such
mails
in outlook so that we get a prompt for deleting them after expiry
of
that
date.
