How to make UNIX links visible.

When I ftp to our UNIX server with IE 6.0, files and directories are visible,
but links are not. Is there anything I can do to make the links visible?
 
Something to try - in IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab,
Browsing section, toggle the checkmark besides "Enable folder view for FTP
sites" click Apply, click Okay.
 
I have already done that, and it shows me the directories, but not the links.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
