How to make other programs recognize Outlook 2003

I am running Windows XP Pro, SP2, and Office 2003. For some reason, two
different synchronization programs--Truesync, and Mobile Phone Tools- do not
recognize Outlook as being installed, and hence will not allow me to sync
with Outlook.

I have tried reinstalling Outlook, and also using the repair function from
within Outlook. Neither of these things help.

In Mobile Phone Tools, the option to sync with Outlook just does not exist.
(Outlook should appear as an option in a pull-down window.) In Truesync, the
software actually states that Outlook is not installed.

Naturally Outlook itself seems to work just fine.

And to add insult to injury, there is a Truesync icon in the Outlook menu
bar, so somehow Truesync and Outlook have communicated.

Any idea what the problem could be, and how I could fix it?

Thanks in advance!

This doesn't sound like an Outlook problem to me. Talk to the support
people for the sync tools.
