How to make myself "owner" of files

Hi

I've just recently copied hundreds of karaoke files from my ext HDD, onto a
friends Vista laptop int hdd,but since then my karaoke player cannot access
some folders.
I then noticed on the 20 odd folders, that under the "owner" colum in XP, it
was blank; wereas the unnafected folders all had a string of letters or said
administrator in the "owner" column.

So does anyone know how I can make myself the owner of the troublesome files
under XP? as I'm pretty sure that must be the problem.
I did try the help section (F1) but got nothing.

Try a search for a registry hack called "Take Ownership." It could be what you are looking for.
