how to make cursor jump locked cells

I have two similar worksheets. In one when I am entering data the cursor (insertion point) jumps over locked cells to the next available entry cell, but on the other sheet it does not and I have to Enter or Arrow past the locked cells. Also, the sheet that works properly "returns" the cursor after the last column at the right hand side as I enter from left to right, but the other sheet does not do that. Haven't found a difference in settings to account for these problems. Both sheets are protected. This condition has just arisen after working properly for some time. I know I'm missing something simple here. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
