How to make an outline!!??

Where do you start to make an outline? IF I go to the home and just click on
numbering, it keeps reseting tosomething I didn't select. If I go to
'outline' it won't number or tab over to the level and number I need..

This is very frustrating! I like Office 2003 so much better!

Note that if you chose a list format with headings in it (for example the "1
Heading 1 1.1 Heading 2 1.1.1 Heading 3" format in the "List Library"), you
will have to change the "Style for following paragraph" setting in the Modify
Style dialog box (by default, this is set to the Normal style which means
that Normal will be applied each time you press Enter at the end of a heading
paragraph).

To make sure that you can use the Tab and Shift+Tab keys to demote and
promote the numbering, do the following: Click the Office button, and then
click Word Options. In the Proofing category, click the AutoCorrect Options
button. On the AutoFormat As You Type tab, select the "Set left and first
indent with tabs and backspaces" option. Click OK twice.
