How to make a transparent part in the middle of a picture so that other
objects can be inserted - part of the main pic has an object protruding
inside the square (the square that I wish to insert other objects) thus I
cant order the object forward

There is an art to layering 2D objects so that they resemble 3D. Way more,
in fact, than I could hope to cover in a simple newsgroup posting. However,
it sounds like what you want to do is ...

1) Create a black mask with a square hole in the middle. This is easier
than it sounds. Just create 4 black rectangles around the outer edge of the
slide, select them all, and group them. (Square or rectangular is the
easiest shape to make a mask for)

2) Insert your full picture behind the mask (Move backward or to back)

3) In Photoshop, copy the part of your picture that you want to "hang out"
of the mask, and trim all the background off of it.

4) Insert your new HangOut picture above the mask. Make sure you line it up
exactly to match the original picture.

Now your picture will be masked off except for the part that hangs out of
the masked area. This would look very nice with flowers, plants, grapes, or
pretty much any 3D-ish image.
