How to make a second hard drive bootable

blablablabla

I have a second hard drive (D:) on my PC that I have loaded
with XP. I want to remove my current C: drive and put the
D: drive in its place but my PC does not recognize it as a
bootable volume.

Can someone tell me how to make my D: drive bootable so
that it can replace my current C: drive.

Thanks

Put the D drive in as your ONLY HDD. Set BIOS to boot first from CD, insert
WinXP CD and boot from it. Then select Repair Install.

You will need to activate the new HDD but it's likely that this will work
over the Internet. Worst case might be a 5 minute phone call via a toll-free
number.

Thanks Len. I should have thought of that....only the
recovery console is not accepting my administrator
password. Any suggestions of what I can do?
